Music of My Heart

Music speaks to me in a way that nothing else can.  Over the years I have developed a deep passion and love for music.  Along with that, God has given me the talent to sing.  I use my voice to glorify Him as much as possible.  Worship music is my all-time favorite and I almost can’t get enough at times.  No matter where I’m at in life or what I’m feeling – there is always a song that speaks directly to me and resonates with my heart.

I was reminded last week of my first solo performance that took place 22 years ago!  Yes.. I was only 4.  And I remember it like it was yesterday.  I sang “This is the day that the Lord has made” at my aunt and uncle’s wedding.  I remember the piano player, I remember being a little nervous, I remember I came in too early and the piano player nodded so I stopped and started over, and I remember the joy and satisfaction it brought to my heart to give the glory to God for that special day.

singing                           I’m so thankful I was given the opportunity to sing at such a young age.  My passion for music and singing has truly grown and developed over the years.  And because I was given that first opportunity, I was able to share my voice on one of the most special days of my life… my OWN wedding!  (And  it was a surprise!)

It’s such a blessing to worship and serve God through song, and I’m so very thankful for this gift.  I’ve often said if I had a choice to be deaf or blind… I think I would choose blind because I’m pretty certain I would not be able to live without music!

This is a song I sang a couple of weeks ago at our church, and it’s one of my new favorites!  Listen and enjoy…
