Training

David started running consistently about 4 months ago.  What started as a desire to workout and run more often turned into training for a fireman combat challenge and competing in the Siouxperman triathlon.

He and 4 other firemen had their first competition toward the end of April in Indianapolis at an FDIC convention.  This was their first time competing and they placed 8th out of 14 teams.  They learned a lot for their next competition and are looking forward to going to Texas at the end of May, Cedar Rapids in June, and Hawarden in Sept.

Here are some pictures of the challenge course, Lucas Oil Stadium where the conference was held, and a picture of Sioux Center’s new aerial truck that was on display at the convention.

David competed in the triathlon on a relay team on Saturday, May 5.  Lee swam, Noah biked, and David ran.  For their first time competing, they placed 1st in the men’s team division!  Kyler and I went to cheer him on.
