30 Weeks

So… we are 3/4 of the way there!  The journey thus far has kind of felt like “hold your breath” – every week that passes is a blessing and let’s just pray nothing major goes wrong until she’s big enough to survive on her own, etc.

Each passing week continues to be a major blessing and I pray she keeps growing to full-term.  I thought now would be a good time to start the countdown of weeks though.  So we have 10 to go (give or take)!

Baby E. is very active and likes to get the hiccups or jump around after I’ve gone to the bathroom in the middle of the night.  I love that she’s preparing me for the many times I’ll be up during the night when she arrives so I don’t get so used to my precious sleep.  At least I’ve been somewhat warned!

The nursery is coming along nicely and we are preparing little by little.  As I cleaned parts of the house this weekend, I was reminded how many of my decorations will be irrelevant – or get put in the closet soon because it’s not very “child-proof.”  They will get replaced with burp rags, toys, books, bottles, and who knows what else.  But we are looking very forward to meeting our little girl and the way our lifestyle will change!  Being married 5 1/2 years we have gotten very used to our own schedules and just doing what we please, and we know it will be a big adjustment – but the blessing will exceed by far.

Heartburn has begun, my body temperature rises pretty quickly these days to uncomfortable, and I took my first pregnancy fall last week (ouch!) – BUT we continue to find joy through the process and praise God for the miracle in the making.

Here’s to the next 10 weeks!

  1. Kale (and I) thank you for risking your face and leg to save him from falling down the stairs! :) Glad you and baby (Kale hasn't spilled her name yet) are ok!

  2. Kale knows her name?! And he hasn't spilled the beans between the grunts and groans that make up his vocabulary? Ugh, you better work on that! :) You look AWESOME, mama! Looking forward to meeting that sweet baby girl!
