A couple of weeks ago, we got to celebrate Kenna’s baptism. It was a special day to have family, friends, and our church family witness. We were reminded of our responsibility and obligation as parents to teach her about Jesus. We have been entrusted with her precious little life, and we desire her to develop her own relationship with Jesus. We were also reminded of God’s love for her (and us) and his promise to never leave her.
I also had the privilege of singing. The lyrics of part of the song go like this… “You will find me tonight somewhere down on my knees as I whisper a prayer that was once prayed for me – you will hear me say, ‘Jesus, keeper of this life, you are my refuge, my Savior, my guide – watch over my little girl tonight - and in some quiet moment, draw her to your side – that she may come to know you, Jesus, as the keeper of this life.” And that has truly been our prayer for Kenna since day 1.
Tired little girl from a big day!
”I prayed for this child, and the Lord has granted me what I asked of him. So now I give him to the Lord. For his whole life he will be given over to the Lord.” 1 Samuel 1:27-28
