Kenna,
You’re 4 months old today! Really?? Time is passing way too fast. With all of your new baby friends arriving, you look like a giant now! But you are so, so fun.
You smile very easy if you aren’t tired or hungry (just like your momma). You like to tell long, long stories and you like to giggle. You’re more aware of movement when looking in the mirror and you like to smile at yourself.
You love to look at other little kids – most of them can make you smile faster than an adult. You’re still not a fan of loud noises or voices sometimes which are often caused by kids too – like your cousins. :) I think you’re getting more used to it though.
You survived your first vacation to the Wisconsin Dells. You probably won’t remember anything and you spent most of it in the stroller or car seat but we will go back again someday! You shared a room with mommy and daddy and really slept pretty good away from home. You are an awesome traveler. You slept the whole way there and back except for when we stopped to eat... so you could eat too!
Your hands are in your mouth a lot – but you’re also better at grasping toys now so those seem to taste good too. You love taggie blankets and toys. Those are your current favorite.
Your hair is thinning out but you still have the lovely wave going on in the back – no matter how many times we try to water it down, it pops right back up!
You like to snuggle with daddy and he can usually make you giggle the most.
You started sleeping through the night about halfway through the month. The first time it was 10 1/2 hours… mommy scared awake to make sure you were ok! It was sure nice. You typically sleep from 9-5 now with one little fuss in the middle of the night to put your pacifier back in your mouth and then you go back to sleep (usually).
Your favorite song is Jesus Loves Me – probably because it’s the one you’ve heard the most since being in utero. You instantly smile and jabber along with me. You like it when mommy sings and laugh when she dances (I would too)!
You started to roll over more consistently this month. You are a determined little girl. Your arm still gets stuck underneath you every time, but you’ll figure it out. It’s mostly from your back to your stomach. Only 1-2 times the other way around. This is causing a slight problem though because you’re so used to being swaddled when you sleep but we can’t do that now that you can roll. So.. the transition begins. You spent half of last night on your back and half on your stomach. You’re really not used to having your arms free but hopefully you catch on soon so your sleeping patterns aren’t all messed up!
We finally caught a roll on video too.
We love you, Kenna! You bring us so much JOY.
