When the guys are away, the girls will play! A few years ago, Mom and my sisters and I started a tradition of going away for a night when Dad (and usually David) go away snowmobiling. We figured if they were going to have fun, we wanted to too! The last few years we have just spent a night in Sioux Falls and had some good food, good shopping, and good memories.
We got to do that again this weekend. And we had fun!! We ate, we shopped, we stayed up later than usual, we taught mom some new words, we didn’t sleep well, we didn’t really sleep in either, we woke up laughing about all the noises we heard from each other through the night, we laughed how none of us slept much, and we ate and shopped some more. These are times when I am reminded just how lucky I am to live close to my family and share those fun times together. It’s fun to just do girly things! I hope we’re able to do this many more times!
