Going Green

I love the color green!  I have a lot of green in my closet and I often have to remind myself that I need to expand my color selection.

My love for green has also expanded into my recent food selections.  I eat dill pickles as a frequent snack.  I’m also very likely to order anything on a menu with guacamole or avocado!  This was a recent creation with a simple grilled burger topped with guac.  DSC_2014I also found a new healthy smoothie recipe on Pinterest that is made with spinach!  It’s a new favorite of mine.  It even says it’s supposed to help with weight loss – but I just started drinking it this past week.  The original recipe was double of what I put below, but even half makes a full glass.  If you don’t think you like spinach, you can’t even tell it’s in there – basically makes the color.  Give it a try – I love it and it’s filling!!

DSC_0615 DSC_0612 DSC_0614Spinach/Fruit Smoothie Recipe:

1/2 c. filtered water, 1/2 c. plain yogurt, 1/2 c. pineapple chunks, handful of baby spinach, 1 whole banana.            *Blend all ingredients together. (Sometimes I add a couple of ice cubes to make it colder and more “slushy.”)

  1. That spinach shake looks disgusting!!! It may be healthy, but so is running 5 miles and I'm not doing that either, haha.
