I’ve been reading several different pregnancy books to try understand some things I maybe never knew – or never had to care about because it wasn’t relative to my life at the time. There are some funny insights out there, and also some serious ones about things that are very helpful.
A question I get asked by a lot of people is, “Do you have any cravings?”
Why yes, yes I do. Thanks for asking. Actually there haven’t been too many things I won’t eat – other than grilled brats or hamburgers. And sometimes smells get to me so the food just doesn’t sound good either.
My cravings have actually shifted some throughout my pregnancy so far but here’s a list just to name a few of my CURRENT frequent snacks/desired cravings–
Broccoli/cauliflower/carrots with Ranch dressingAlmost ANYTHING from Taco John’s (could probably eat it every meal, but not healthy)
Milk
Waffle fries!!!!! (Other kinds of fries just aren’t the same but might hold me over on occasion)
Grapefruit
Lettuce
Anything with noodles
Bagels with cream cheese…. ANYTHING with cream cheese for that matter
And I drink a ton of COLD water
HOWEVER – The one thing I truly crave is an increased measure of Jesus in my life. My deep desire throughout this pregnancy is to stay healthy, to pray for this little one growing every single day, for a safe and healthy arrival of the baby, and for Jesus to be glorified through it all. We waited so long for this moment and I want to embrace it, enjoy it, and cherish it as much as I can. We truly have been blessed on our journey and looking back to view the whole picture of the good, the bad, and the ugly, God has been faithful, even in the hard times. And in THANKSGIVING, we will pour out our gratefulness to our Heavenly Father. Not only this week for the holiday, but for an eternity!
